On December 21, 2019, the Materials Science and Engineering Sub-Alliance of the University Alliance of the Silk Road (MSESA-UASR) Cultural Exchange & International Get-Together Party was successfully held in No.1 Meeting Room of Buliding, School of Materials Science and Engineering. More than 80 foreigners from 15 countries and regions, including RWTH Aachen University in German, the University of Sheffield in UK, CESI in France, Western Australia University in Australia, Sharif University of Technology in Iran and Tel Aviv University in Israel, participated in the Party. The party was hosted by the secretariat of MSESA-UASR, and Professor Zhang Wei was invited to attend the Party.
First of all, Prof. Zhang Wei, on behalf of SMSE, extended a warm welcome to all the experts and students. Everyone at the party facilitated a relaxed environment as Prof. Zhang presented the history of SMSE at XJTU and the historical city of Xi’an. He then reported that by establishing the MSESA-UASR, SMSE promote the internationalization. In recent years, SMSE has made great progress in discipline development, international influence and soft environment construction. At the same time, Prof. Zhang hoped that members of MSESA-UASR would continue to strengthen cooperation and wished them a happy life and a successful study and research in China.
The student delegation from Australia started with a guitar solo, followed by a display of the country's cultural and linguistic characteristics, and ended with a chorus of folk and pop songs, what had shown the students' vibrant youth.
The representative of the foreign experts from India performed a vigorous, powerful and passionate national dance. The student delegation presented the Indian culture and played the passionate movement of cultural collision.
The Pakistani delegation showcased their hometown's food, folk songs and dances, and recorded the stories of Pakistani students in China. The wonderful video delineated the touching moments of China-Pakistan friendship.
Student representatives in Iran shared their traditional festival, the custom of "New Year's day". She presented a cultural feast to everyone.
The Cultural Exchange & International Get-Together Party showcased the rich and diverse international cultures to the foreign and Chinese audiences. The young and energetic international partners made the evening unforgettable for all.
