Research group, represented by Associate
Professor Xiaohui Ning from Center for Advancing Materials Performance from the
Nanoscale (CAMP-Nano) and State Key Laboratory for Mechanical Behavior of
Materials at XJTU, developed a facile hydrothermal method to synthesize
chestnut-like hierarchical hollow SnO2/C nanocomposites which exhibit enhanced
lithium ion storage properties. In-situ TEM study demonstrates that the limited
volume expansion and excellent mechanical robustness of the hollow chestnuts
facilitate the improved cycling performance.
The research result is of great scientific
significance to optimizing the structure design of anode materials for high
performance lithium ion batteries, and was recently published on Nano
Energy titled “Chestnut-like
SnO2/C Nanocomposites with Enhanced Lithium Ion Storage Properties”. Xi’an
