Mats R. Andersson, the professor of Future Industries Institute of UniSA and the academician of Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, and Prof. Ergang Wang from Chalmers University, Sweden, were invited by Prof. Wei Ma to visit the school of Materials Science and Engineering on June 24, 2016. Prof. Andersson gave a lecture on “Design and synthesis of conjugated materials for solar cells” in the No. 01 meeting room at the new MSE building at 10:00 am. Prof. Andersson made a wonderful presentation on the preparation, working principle, design and synthesis of new polymer materials for organic solar cells. Afterwards, professors and students from XJTU raised various interesting and critical questions regarding organic solar cells, Prof. Andersson has responded to all the questions in a convincing and informative way.

At 2:30 pm, the vice Dean Prof. Zhiwei Shan, Prof. Xiangdong Ding, Prof. Wei Ma and Prof. Wei Zhang had a thorough discussion with Prof. Andersson and Prof. Ergang Wang on the possibilities of cooperation. The representatives from MSE gave a comprehensive overview of the status of MSE, and Prof. Andersson gave a thorough description of his research direction, background, and cooperation intention of UniSA with MSE. Then Prof. Andersson discussed the issues about establishing collaborations, exchanging students and other details with Prof. Shan, Prof. Ding and Prof. Ma.
