International Joint Research Center for Soft Matter (abbreviated as IJRC-SM), Shaanxi Province, which was approved by Department of Science and Technology of Shaanxi Province in 2015 and is operating under the supervision of Xi'an Jiaotong University, is a national base of international scientific and technologic collaboration. The center focuses on soft matter system, using experimental, theoretical and simulation methods to study the frontier problems in this multi-disciplinary field. There are four main research fields in the center, including: theoretical and computational condensed physics, nano-technology and assembly, nano-device fabrication and biological soft matter. The research in our center does not only emphasize on the experimental study of the soft matter system, but also focus on the association between theories and experiments. Investigating and understanding the relationship between the structure and the function of the materials are the key part of our research, while the mechanism and principle of the self-assembly and self-organization at different length scales are also explored. The goal of the center is to establish an international platform of carrying out cutting-edge research and attracting talents and then become a leading, world-class scientific research base.
