1. ABOUT XJTU:

Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) is a key university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education of China and is one of the most prestigious universities in China. The predecessor of XJTU was Nanyang College founded in 1896 at Shanghai. XJTU was supported by the Central Government at the seventh and eighth five-year plan, as well as Chinese “Proiect 211” and “Project 985” to develop into a world-class university. Ln 2017 XJTU was selected as a Double First-class university in Category A, which means that the government will support it financially to develop into a world-class university. 2. ABOUT MSE:

Starting in 1952 as the first major of heat treatment of metallic materials in China, the faculty of materials science and engineering (MSE) at Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) has now developed into a faculty of 198 members, among whom more than 40 have been selected into various National Talent Programs. We are home of the State Key Laboratory for Mechanical Behavior of Materials, which ranked A+ in the last-round of evaluation in 2018. In addition, we house the New Materials International Joint Research Center supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology, six other research platforms supported by the central and local government, one innovation cluster supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, a “111” platform for international exchanges, and three innovation teams supported by the Ministry of Education of China. The main research focuses of the MSE include advanced engineering materials, high-performance functional materials, and materials synthesis, processing and service behaviors. In particular, our faculty members are well known in areas such as materials deformation and phase transformation, in situ TEM characterization, ferroelectric materials for smart systems, and phase-change memory materials. Since 2005, the MSE have received 9 national awards, and published more than 6,000 research articles, including many in top-flight journals. The annual research budget of FMSE is ~100million Chinese Yuan on average.

3. RECRUITMENT POSITIONS AND SALARY

ü In this plan, there are two kinds of posts: "professor" and "special appointed researcher".

It is specially stated that those candidates who are especially excellent and belong to the discipline development shortage direction, the treatment can be negotiable. Some fields can also apply for "Siyuan Scholars" talent fund, if selected, you can enjoy additional salary treatment.

3) Outstanding Young Talents Program:

ü The applicant should hold a PhD degree and should be under the age of 32;

ü The applicant has made remarkable achievements in related fields and has shown good potential for academic development in publishing papers, hosting (participating in) scientific research projects or carrying out the transformation of scientific and technological achievements；
